Abnormality

Xi Siyan didn’t answer.
His mind was full of one dilemma: should he drive away the little idol who had stolen his baby’s attention, or ask him for an autograph for Jing Miao?
While he was still hesitating, the idol quietly sat down beside him.
“Brother Xi, have a drink.”
The soft voice and sudden closeness startled Xi Siyan.
One look at Boss Zheng’s ingratiating smile, and Xi Siyan instantly understood what this was.
He pretended to get up for tissues and quietly left his original seat.
When he came back, he sat on the other side of Wang Song’s second-in-command, already thinking: contract’s in hand anyway, I should make an excuse and leave.
“Mr. Xi, hehe, Xiao Tan really likes you. He keeps saying you’re his male god.” Boss Zheng waggled his brows and edged closer. “Don’t worry, everyone here is tight-lipped. Xiao Tan is excellent—pretty face, great figure. We’re all men here.”
Xi Siyan: “……”
He swallowed the curse.
“Boss Zheng, I’m married.”
Boss Zheng acted like he didn’t hear him.
With one glance from Zheng, the idol leaned in again.
Zheng even pushed him toward Xi Siyan.
“Be proactive, Xiao Tan. Why so shy in front of your idol?”
Caught off guard, the boy landed in Xi Siyan’s lap.
Tan Tan lowered his eyes shyly.
“Brother Xi…”
Xi Siyan shoved him away and shot to his feet, face dark.
He was about to explode when his phone started dinging repeatedly.
He took it out, saw the caller ID, and his expression softened instantly.
“Hello, Miaomiao.”
“Gege, where are you?!” Jing Miao’s voice sounded excited.
“Gege is still outside. I’ll be home soon,” he said.
Jing Miao was standing alone at the entrance of Jingxing Tiandi Club, calling him.
He had wanted to surprise Xi Siyan, but the front desk said he couldn’t enter without reservation.
“Gege, can you come get me? I’m at the club entrance. The front desk jiejie said I can’t go in without booking.”
Jing Miao’s soft voice came through the line, and Xi Siyan’s heart leapt into his throat.
Without another word he rushed out the door.
The place was a legitimate high-end club, yes, but there were always gray areas around such venues—drunk rich people causing scenes at the entrance wasn’t unusual.
He ran downstairs and saw Jing Miao there.
“Miaomiao!”
Xi Siyan pulled him into his arms at once.
“Why did you come by yourself? Where’s Mom? How did you come?”
The questions came in a hurry.
Jing Miao answered obediently:
“I missed gege and wanted to see you earlier, so I told Mom she didn’t need to pick me up.”
Like asking for praise, he showed Xi Siyan his ride-hailing app.
“Gege, I came by taxi all by myself!”
Xi Siyan’s brow was still tightly furrowed.
“Never again! How many times do you want to scare me? You can’t come to places like this alone in the future. If you miss me, call me. I’ll come find you. Heard me?”
Jing Miao pouted, wronged.
“Sorry, gege…”
Xi Siyan sighed and gently pressed Jing Miao’s head to his chest.
“Good boy.”
His phone dinged again.
He loosened his embrace first and checked it—Wang Song’s second-in-command:
Bro… are you coming back?
Running out like that had probably put him in an awkward spot.
“I’m coming back. Right away.”
Xi Siyan’s mind turned once; his brows lifted slightly.
“Miaomiao, come upstairs with gege for a little while, then we’ll go home, okay?”
“Okay.”
Being with Xi Siyan was never bad.
So when Xi Siyan returned, he was holding someone by the hand…
Boss Zheng stared blankly at Tan Tan.
“Y-your teammate?”
Tan Tan opened his mouth.
“…How is that possible?”
*If he were in our group, we’d have to replace our visual center,* Tan Tan thought.
Boss Zheng smiled obsequiously.
“Mr. Xi, this is…?”
Xi Siyan seated Jing Miao a little farther away, then smiled at Zheng.
“Sorry, Boss Zheng. This is my wife.”
Boss Zheng, Tan Tan: “……”
The well-traveled second-in-command was the first to react:
“Little sister-in-law is here!”
Under the hazy lights, Jing Miao stared at Tan Tan without blinking for a long while.
Tan Tan thought:
*I’m dead. The legal spouse is going to slap me.*
Suddenly Jing Miao stood up excitedly, pointed at Tan Tan, face full of “I want to say something but can’t”:
“This is! This is…”
Tan Tan was just about to hold his head and beg:
“No, little sister-in-law, listen to me, this is a misunderstanding—”
“Gege, this is Tan Tan!”
The little one turned around and hugged Xi Siyan, bouncing in place.
“It’s Tan Tan! Gege! Is it really him? I met a celebrity, gege!”
Xi Siyan held his shoulders helplessly.
“Mm, yes, it’s Tan Tan. Careful not to bump into the table, baby.”
Everyone else: “……”
Xi Siyan smiled awkwardly.
“My wife is your fan.”
“Heh… heh-heh… really? What an honor…”
Tan Tan’s voice shook.
He was utterly unprepared for this turn.
Jing Miao wanted an autograph, then realized he hadn’t brought anything to sign, and immediately looked terribly upset.
“I don’t have anything for him to sign.”
Tan Tan quickly got the cue.
“Brother Xi, leave me an address. I’ll prepare a signed poster and signed photos when I get back. I can include signed merch from my teammates too, for little sister-in-law.”
“No!” Little sister-in-law pouted. “Not your teammates’! Only yours! They’re all bad people!”
Ha. A toxic solo stan…
Xi Siyan frowned, gently tapped Jing Miao’s lips, voice very soft.
“Miaomiao, you can’t say that about people. If you don’t know them and haven’t met them, you can’t casually decide someone is good or bad.”
For example, your idol may not be good.
And the teammate you dislike may not be bad.
Jing Miao, lightly “scolded,” immediately admitted fault:
“Gege, don’t be mad.”
Then he apologized to Tan Tan:
“Sorry. I shouldn’t have said that about your teammates.”
Tan Tan smiled stiffly.
“N-no, it’s fine.”
Xi Siyan pulled Jing Miao over and sat him on his lap, coaxing softly:
“Miaomiao hasn’t thanked Tan Tan for sending signed photos yet.”
The little one’s downcast face lit up again.
“Thank you, Tan Tan! Then you’re the best! The strongest! Oh right—can you write a personalized autograph for me? My name is Jing Miao. Jing as in ‘well water,’ Miao as in ‘vast and misty waters.’”
