Chapter 7
Chapter 7
The Popular Darling Says She’s Pregnant with My Child
Transmigration Diary 7
This time when Wen Shiyu knocked the door flew open.
Cefalina herself answered.
Pale but furious—she had risen from the sofa as if to drag Wen Shiyu in person.
“You actually—hung up on me!”
Halfway through Wen Shiyu yanked her coat open, pulled Cefalina’s head in against her chest.
“Well?”
Cefalina felt warmth, heard Wen Shiyu’s heartbeat.
Too stunned to move—only after a long beat did she push her away in panic.
“Y-you—what are you doing?”
Wen Shiyu still panted—sweat at her temples, chest heaving from the run.
“I ran all the way here. Can you smell it now?”
Cefalina stared blankly, ears reddening—then turned away, irritable. “O-of course!”
Wen Shiyu’s body did carry post-exercise warmth and sweat. Alpha sweat contained pheromones—basic biology.
Of course she would smell something.
Wen Shiyu went blank instead.
She said she smelled pheromones?
It really was whatever Cefalina believed.
“Then—”
There was a solution.
Wen Shiyu brightened, dug in her pockets, produced a crumpled lollipop.
Cheapest-looking wrapper.
She tore the plastic, held the pink candy to Cefalina’s lips—
Voice almost teaching a child:
“Here—see…… I bite this side, you bite that side, then…… we hold it together and spin it slow—”
Cefalina’s gaze fell on the crude lollipop in disbelief. Ears burned hotter.
“I won’t!”
Wen Shiyu rushed to explain. “It’s not kissing.”
“Still no!” Cefalina turned away.
“I’m not eating your spit.”
Wen Shiyu looked deadly serious, rationalizing: “It’s not spit—it’s pheromones through saliva exchange.”
At “pheromones” Cefalina wavered a moment—then breathed deep and steadied.
“I said no intimate contact, Wen Shiyu! Is this the best you can do—skirting the line?”
She tried to ice her voice.
“If you keep this up I won’t say one word to help your family’s loan.”
Wen Shiyu slowly lowered the lollipop.
“Then what do you want?”
“Release pheromones, obviously.”
“Wen Shiyu, stop acting. I had people check—that ‘can’t release pheromones’ illness of yours doesn’t exist.
You’re lying to me!”
Wen Shiyu: “……”
Cefalina stood straight despite misery—lips white, breath shallow. “Don’t think I don’t know your game.”
Wen Shiyu opened her mouth, closed it, could only follow:
“……What game?”
“You pretend you can’t release pheromones so I’ll agree to direct contact—make me depend on your scent without noticing, get addicted, turn me into your servant.
You want me to play ugly at school, be hated, buy you clothes and bags and sports cars with no conditions, make you campus queen…… introduce you to Alphas—especially Su Yan. Right?”
“?” Wen Shiyu’s eyes went wider. What was this.
Oh—right. That might have been the original host’s daydream……
“So you’ll only wait until I agree to release pheromones?” She glanced at Cefalina’s pale lips.
“Even when you’re suffering?”
“Yes. I said I won’t accept intimate contact with you.”
She said it stubbornly—but shoulders trembled slightly.
Wen Shiyu was silent, rubbed her forehead. She could not explain—had to follow Cefalina’s logic.
But she could not drag this out. No other way—maybe special measures, ride the mistake.
Head down a long time, mood set, Wen Shiyu laughed suddenly.
“Funny.” She looked up straight at Cefalina.
“Did you ever think maybe I don’t care about our family business as much as you think?”
Cefalina’s brow knit.
Wen Shiyu stepped forward—confident, almost another person.
“Maybe I’m not in a hurry at all, Cefalina. Will you really gamble your health—and your ‘baby’s’ safety—against me?”
“We can keep wasting time. I have plenty. But you?”
“Besides my pheromones do you have any other choice? If you did you’d have used it already, right?”
“In your state, a few more days and you’re in the hospital. By then even if I release pheromones it may be too late.
Better take this candy now than go there.”
Wen Shiyu paused, voice lower.
“Or…… are you afraid? Afraid this tiny bit of contact will make you addicted to me?”
“What.” Cefalina’s eyes widened, voice rising.
“I’m a high-tier Omega. If anyone gets addicted it’s you—to me.”
“Not necessarily.”
Wen Shiyu picked up the lollipop again, shook it.
“Dare to try?”
Cefalina bit her lip, looked at Wen Shiyu so close—heart suddenly racing.
“Childish provocation.”
Dry words—but her eyes stayed on Wen Shiyu’s face.
Wen Shiyu smiled, leaned closer. “So you think my scheme works? One kiss and I own you?”
“Impossible.” Cefalina snapped back.
“Then what are you afraid of?” Wen Shiyu whispered—and pressed the cheap sweet candy gently to Cefalina’s lips.
“I’ll tell you clearly—even if we go bankrupt I won’t use other ways to release pheromones.
You can wait until your body breaks. Or…… accept my pheromones now.”
The candy turned, slipped slightly between soft lips.
“Anyway—you think I can’t control you, don’t you?”
Damn—was it that trace of pheromone from breathing? Cefalina’s head spun.
First time in her life she could not think clearly—only heartbeat. Cheeks scorching, flush to the corners of her eyes.
Finally, almost defiant, to prove something, she parted her lips slightly.
Wen Shiyu licked the other end of the lollipop at once—carefully spun the stick.
Industrial sweet flooded her tongue. She could not know what Cefalina tasted.
She tried to read her face—only saw Cefalina eyes shut tight, long lashes fluttering like frightened wings.
Warm breath with faint sweet peach brushed her cheek and nose.
Wen Shiyu’s throat went dry. She stopped talking and kept going.
They held the strange pose—time stretched, sticky.
Gradually Wen Shiyu felt Cefalina unconsciously leaning in—almost on tiptoe, moving toward her.
“?”
Wen Shiyu leaned back slightly on instinct. Cefalina followed until…… soft lips wet with candy touched hers.
Wen Shiyu froze solid.
“Mm.” Cefalina’s breath shook—but she did not pull away. Still head lifted, eyes closed……
“Wait—mm—” Wen Shiyu mumbled—
Next second the world spun. The lollipop clattered to the floor.
Cefalina’s hands were on her shoulders, pushing her back gently.
Wen Shiyu dazed against the wall—clear, real, warm soft touch on her lips.
Not candy anymore—Cefalina’s mouth.
Cefalina seemed to wake all at once, propped up—
Hand over her mouth, face scarlet, eyes unfocused, dizzy.
Several ragged breaths—then word by word, straining, to still-stunned Wen Shiyu:
“I felt nothing at all!”
Huh?
Wen Shiyu’s whole brain short-circuited.
Cefalina panting, emphasized again:
“You cannot control me at all.”
“……Oh.”
Then—
Knock knock knock.
Sudden knocks—then Su Yan’s familiar concerned voice through the door:
“Cefalina? Are you feeling better?”
Su Yan?
Why was she back!
Wen Shiyu bolted upright, scanned for somewhere to hide—
Cefalina frowned at the odd behavior.
“Wait! Don’t let her—”
Cefalina did not listen. She smoothed messy hair and opened the door.
Nowhere to hide—Wen Shiyu stood stiff, smile painfully awkward.
Su Yan’s gaze swept the room, landed on her—brow deepened.
She did not explode—turned to Cefalina, gestured toward the study next door.
Study door shut. Su Yan turned. “Why is Wen Shiyu here? I saw her lurking nearby before.”
“You suddenly felt unwell…… is it related to her?”
Cefalina’s fingers touched her lips without thinking—dropped fast.
“I’ll handle it myself. Don’t worry so much.”
“Hard not to.” Su Yan stepped forward. “You’ve been off lately.
Why is she here? Did you let her in?”
Cefalina seemed annoyed.
“Why do you care so much? It’s only Wen Shiyu.”
“You think…… I’d lose to her?”
Cefalina lifted her pretty face—careless mask back, though lips still red.
“Stay out of it. Everything’s under control.”
