Chapter 2
Chapter 2
The Popular Darling Says She’s Pregnant with My Child
Transmigration Diary 2
She panted, voice surprised and hoarse, instinct wary and resisting. “What are you doing……”
Wen Shiyu would not waste the chance. Word by word, serious:
“I’m here to help.”
She did not know—as she bent close, dense plum wine scent rolled off her clothes.
In the closed room thick with Omega pheromones, that smell was abrupt and sharp.
Cefalina’s eyes widened; her face flamed redder.
“You—you’re an Alpha too……?”
“What?”
Wen Shiyu did not catch it.
Cefalina tried to push her away, agitated. “I—I don’t want—”
Don’t want what? Was Cefalina confused?
Whatever happened, she could not run out now.
Wen Shiyu tightened her arms and pinned her.
“Don’t run.”
Cefalina’s eyes went wide; struggle intensified.
“I don’t want— not you— let go!”
What was she saying?
Never mind—help her this once and when she sobered up she would remember the favor.
Wen Shiyu looked around, decided on the box’s restroom, locked a second door.
Otherwise Alphas at the door would flood in.
Cefalina had little strength. Wen Shiyu hauled her up and into the bathroom—
Second lock clicked shut.
Cefalina tried to speak. Afraid of noise, Wen Shiyu reflexively covered her mouth.
“Shh……” Low voice; she pinned her in the narrow wedge between wall and her own body.
“People outside.”
“You don’t want to be heard, do you.”
Cefalina had to lift her chin. Amber eyes, startled huge, stared through Wen Shiyu’s fingers at the face inches away.
Only then did Wen Shiyu realize they were too close.
Cefalina was entirely in her arms.
She could see wet lashes, red at the corners from heat.
Cefalina’s chest rose and fell fast with panicked breath—each press clear through their clothes.
Embarrassment came late.
“Cough,” voice low and slow: “Remember—today I helped you.”
But Cefalina shook harder.
Incredulous stare—pretty eyes filling with shame and anger.
“P-pervert……!”
“Huh?”
Wen Shiyu stared; Cefalina would not meet her eyes.
She turned away hard, eyes shut. Breath ragged, fever-hot skin—but resistance oddly weakening.
“No…… don’t……” Head shaking without thought.
“Ugh…… pull your pheromones back……!”
Pheromones? What pheromones?
Wen Shiyu was more lost.
She had none.
But she smelled strong plum wine too—most of her top was soaked.
Wait—Wen Shiyu finally got it.
“You mean this smell?”
“No—it’s just on my clothes—”
Hard to explain. She grabbed her collar to yank the jacket off.
“Ah!” Cefalina seemed frightened by the rough move—hands flew to cover her eyes.
At the same time fluffy rabbit ears popped from her pale-gold hair without warning.
Wen Shiyu froze solid.
She had read the setting—Alphas and Omegas could show animal traits in certain states; genetics.
But weren’t those traits only supposed to appear when they were…… excited?
And this was……?
Before Wen Shiyu recovered from rabbit ears, Cefalina felt the change herself.
She stiffened, slowly lowered her hands—misty amber eyes blank-wide, then whole face burning as if on fire.
Shock stopped her breath. Next second her eyes rolled back and she went limp.
“?!”
Wen Shiyu caught her on reflex before she hit the floor.
“Ce—Cefalina??”
Soft calls—no response.
Only soft hair and fluffy rabbit ears draped on her shoulder.
Wen Shiyu had no plan.
She dared not move—back to cold tile, holding the unconscious girl in the tiny space, waiting.
Minutes crawled. Outside, shouting and collision seemed to fade—
But Cefalina in her arms burned hotter, skin frighteningly warm.
Wen Shiyu thought she faintly smelled something clear and sweet—peach.
Smelled good. Must be the delicious kind.
Juicy, full—a bite and juice would run.
She sniffed without thinking, looked around.
Peaches hidden in the bathroom? Impossible.
She looked down instead—
Long lashes lowered, fine sweat on a straight nose, lips slightly parted, panting in pain.
Delicate, full, no lipstick—natural healthy color……
Wen Shiyu stared. Why did it seem…… her mouth smelled sweet?
**Bang**—the outer door burst open.
Fortunately trained academy med staff in protective gear entered.
Professionally they lifted unconscious Cefalina from Wen Shiyu’s arms onto a prepared gurney.
Through the transfer Cefalina never woke—cheeks red, breath unsteady.
Only when she lay on the gurney did fingers that had clutched Wen Shiyu’s sleeve finally slacken and fall.
The crisis seemed over.
Leaving the dining hall alone, Wen Shiyu scratched her head—something felt off.
But she had tried her best.
She had not apologized face-to-face while Cefalina was conscious—but—
Surely she would remember: in crisis Wen Shiyu had taken her somewhere safer and stayed until rescue?
In the novel Su Yan held the door, blocked Alphas affected by scent—Cefalina grateful, bond tightened.
Her role…… should be similar? She thought uncertainly.
Days passed. Cefalina did not return for several days; news was scarce.
That brief crossing was a pebble in deep water—ripples, then silence.
When Wen Shiyu thought the matter had died quietly, Cefalina came for her.
That day Wen Shiyu was in a wide seminar room—students in groups, discussion and exchange.
The original host never cared about study—nails, mirror, slacking.
Groupmates had groaned when she sat down.
This time Wen Shiyu calmly spread paper, took notes, and began a slow but clear argument.
One by one heads lifted—stunned.
Wen Shiyu looked up at staring teammates and felt nervous.
“Was I wrong?”
Truth was Wen Shiyu had always been a hidden ace—
Never flashy, but at important exams suddenly “overperformed” and took first place.
Reason simple: poor, needed scholarships.
She could keep up here.
Was her spoken English bad—wrong words, a joke?
“No—not that,” a member met Wen Shiyu’s deep, beautiful eyes and stammered.
“I think…… you’re right.”
“M-me too.”
Wen Shiyu exhaled—
“Then let’s start from—”
**Bang**—the door flew open.
Discussion stopped. Every student stared at the entrance.
Wen Shiyu turned with the room.
Cefalina.
Academy uniform, pale-gold hair neat, gaze sweeping the room—locking on Wen Shiyu.
Wen Shiyu saw her expression turn complex—anger, shame, maybe more.
Lips pressed hard; cheeks reddened inch by inch to the ears.
“Wen Shiyu—you—come out!”
The room went airless.
Breath held. Hands over mouths. Eyes ping-pong between them.
Wen Shiyu blanked.
First thought: had Cefalina come to thank her?
This atmosphere…… did not feel like thanks.
She hesitated—glanced at the professor, at rigid Cefalina. “Um—I’m in class—”
“Out!”
“……”
The professor only nodded—permission to leave.
Wen Shiyu gathered paper and pen under dozens of burning stares and walked out.
The corridor was empty and quiet. Wen Shiyu drafted in her head:
Cefalina, I regret the stupid things I did. I’ve changed.
Maybe we could try…… normal friends?
Too naive? While she searched words, Cefalina ahead did not slow—no intention to talk.
They passed the long hall toward the building exit.
Wen Shiyu finally asked softly: “……Where are we going?”
Cefalina silent—steps faster.
Out the side door—afternoon sun harsh.
Wen Shiyu squinted at a low-key but unmistakably luxurious black sedan.
A uniformed driver waited, bowing to open the door as Cefalina emerged.
Several tall men in black suits—bodyguards—approached from nearby, forming an invisible ring.
“……” Bad feeling.
Wen Shiyu stopped, tried again:
“Cefalina, uh—after that day—are you…… all right?”
Cefalina ignited, spun around.
Not just flushed cheeks—amber eyes brimming, rims red.
She trembled—not cold—emotion pressed to breaking.
“Wen Shiyu—you did it on purpose!”
“Huh?” On purpose what?
“I always knew you hate me—always trying to ruin me……!”
Wen Shiyu: “No, I—”
“But I never thought!” Cefalina cut in.
“You’d use something so vile, so vicious! You actually dared—you actually—”
She could not continue—chest heaving, face purple.
“Wait—” Wen Shiyu flailed at the attack. “What are you talking about?”
“You know exactly what!” Cefalina stepped forward, tears blurring glare.
“You—you want me to say it myself, don’t you?”
At Wen Shiyu’s lost face shame peaked.
Cefalina covered her face—not pointing—shoulders shaking, muffled sobs through fingers.
“Bastard—you win!”
She drew breath, eyes closed, and dropped the bombshell:
“I—I’m pregnant with your child!”
Wen Shiyu: “……?”
Wen Shiyu: “??????”
