Chapter 1
Chapter 1
The Goddess Guidebook
"Chen Hang."
Lin Haoyuan sneakily called me out of the classroom, hooked his arm around my shoulder, and gestured with his eyes for me to look through the window.
He was too eye-catching; just standing at the classroom door could cause whispers throughout the hallway.
I really didn't want to be forced into the group of guys being visually assaulted by girls, so I quickly followed his gaze. My eyes landed on a girl's perfect profile.
It was Luo Zhuowei.
The famous beauty of our grade, worshipped by all the single male dogs as the "Last Goddess."
One reason was that she was so beautiful that even the tacky school uniform looked cute on her. The other reason was that she hadn't had a boyfriend since enrollment.
"I want to pursue Luo Zhuowei." He mouthed the words to me, giving me a rather lewd look that wouldn't seem lewd coming from a handsome guy. "Are you close with her?"
My twisted fate with this trash Lin Haoyuan could be measured in years. I could tell with my toes that Lin Haoyuan definitely wanted to use my relationship with Luo Zhuowei as classmates to help him get closer.
Normally, I wouldn't refuse Lin Haoyuan's requests for help.
After all, basically just mentioning Lin Haoyuan's name at Nan High, ninety percent of the girls he wanted to pursue would agree. The remaining five percent must have never seen his face or photos.
The rest either had boyfriends or were unattainable highland flowers that no one had conquered yet.
And Luo Zhuowei was that remaining one percent.
She looked gentle and soft, always smiling with a good temper. But last year on Valentine's Day, I witnessed her expressionlessly dumping all the chocolates boys had forced on her into the trash can behind the school building.
Considering all of the above, I didn't think I could help Lin Haoyuan get Luo Zhuowei.
"Not close." I pried Lin Haoyuan's hand off my neck, rolled my eyes at him, and turned to go back to class, but he grabbed my collar and pulled me back, almost choking me. "Damn—"
I'm really going to die early because of this bastard.
I coughed a few times and straightened my collar, trying to communicate with Lin Haoyuan, who was blinded by beauty: "Bro, it's not that I don't want to help. Luo Zhuowei doesn't fall for your usual tricks."
If he failed, he'd definitely act like nothing happened, but I still have to face her! We're classmates!
"Don't, don't, you're my bro now. Brother Chen, show some loyalty." Lin Haoyuan was really shameless when trying to please people. He pulled out a car key from who knows where and stuffed it into my shirt pocket. "My old man just bought it. Two weeks, how about it?"
...I shamefully felt a bit tempted. "R-really can't help."
My family is much stricter with me than Lin Haoyuan's family is with him. My dad isn't as easy to fool as Lin Haoyuan's old man.
Wanting to drive isn't that easy, and changing cars requires good grades.
I felt myself starting to waver. While my conscience was still there, I quickly reached into my chest pocket to pull out the key and throw it back to Lin Haoyuan.
But this guy saw my intention and pressed my hand, starting to add more chips like a madman: "A month and a half."
"Not that, this really..."
"Three months!"
Damn it, I'm not going to be human anymore.
"Deal."
#2
After accepting Lin Haoyuan's bribe, I had to get to work immediately.
Otherwise, he could definitely annoy someone from morning to night, texting me on WeChat more frequently than his ex-girlfriends used to contact him.
Luo Zhuowei's seat was right behind mine.
I had never been more grateful for this seating arrangement than now. Otherwise, going to Luo Zhuowei's seat alone to find her... although there wouldn't be a problem, it would probably seem like I had ulterior motives.
Although the current situation was also a kind of "ulterior motive."
During break, I turned around to try to talk to Luo Zhuowei.
She happened to still be at her seat and hadn't been dragged to the bathroom by her friends.
"Luo Zhuowei."
She was bending down organizing her drawer. Hearing someone call her, she quickly looked up.
Her hair had fallen to her cheeks because of her lowered head. Luo Zhuowei noticed it was me calling her, raised her hand to tuck the strands behind her ear, and smiled at me: "What's up?"
"Um, well," Her smile made my originally relaxed posture leaning against the backrest stiffen. I subconsciously straightened up a bit. My brain felt like it had been electrocuted for a moment, forgetting what I had planned to say. "It's just—"
Was it because of her outstanding appearance?
Luo Zhuowei's gaze locked on mine actually made me feel a bit flustered. The words that usually came easily even when lying seemed to have lost all organizational ability.
In reality, probably less than 0.01 seconds had passed, but that electric feeling made my heart race for a moment.
