Chapter 57
Chapter 57
Sleep is the First Productivity
Saying such words, Shuangyun's heart also felt shocked.
Losing the resounding quality she'd always had before, even hoping he hadn't heard.
But Shuangyun's heart clearly heard her own voice.
All these days, she'd deliberately not brought their relationship closer to sex, wanting to know what she and Cheng Lang would be like outside of that.
And Cheng Lang seemed never to have changed. Approaching him was also approaching steady deep green.
She wanted to hold his hand, wanted to hug him. Wanted to feel his body's temperature, wanted to hear him call her name: Shuangyun Liang, Shuangyun Liang, Shuangyun Liang.
His voice had no commands, no force, only endless tenderness, infatuation, and reluctance. As if wanting to tightly grasp Shuangyun's heart.
Many times, he just quietly, intently looked at her. Those eyes were full of Shuangyun Liang, but he wouldn't say anything that would pressure her. At any time, anywhere, she could freely leave.
On the return journey, Shuangyun fell asleep in the passenger seat.
When she woke again, the car hadn't returned home. Cheng Lang opened the window on her side and said: "Look outside."
Shuangyun rubbed her eyes and looked outside, seeing the sunset she hadn't had the patience to wait for.
Cheng Lang had driven the car to a place where they could see the sunset. There was no one nearby. In the far sky, the sunset was like red-hot iron slowly sinking.
Cool wind blew Shuangyun's hair. She leaned against the car window gazing at the sunset. Cheng Lang also gazed at her.
He'd of course heard her words. So light, yet so heavy.
Shuangyun turned back at this moment, meeting Cheng Lang's gaze.
She smiled and asked Cheng Lang: "Are you looking at the sunset, or at me?"
Cheng Lang said calmly: "You."
Shuangyun smiled even more.
It was so quiet here. No one around. The sunset hadn't completely set yet. They should be focusing on watching it right now.
But no one in the car remembered anymore.
Shuangyun was long immersed in Cheng Lang's gaze, unable to extricate herself.
The last ray of sunset light disappeared from Cheng Lang's face. Shuangyun leaned closer and kissed Cheng Lang's lips.
No one hesitated. Cheng Lang also tightly held Shuangyun's body.
Intense sucking, as if wanting to express all unspoken emotions here. Fingers passed through her black long hair, not wanting her to leave his body so quickly.
Shuangyun slightly withdrew in oxygen deprivation. In heavy panting, she also looked up and saw Cheng Lang's eyes.
He hadn't taken the initiative, just looked at her like this, as if expecting her second kiss.
Shuangyun asked: "Cheng Lang, have you thought of me?"
Cheng Lang said: "Yes."
Shuangyun shook her head: "I mean, when we were apart, did you think of me? Want to kiss me, hug me, sleep with me?"
Cheng Lang looked at Shuangyun. After a few quiet seconds, he said: "Yes."
Shuangyun laughed: "I thought only I wanted to sleep with you. So Teacher Cheng also thought of me."
Cheng Lang didn't speak. He couldn't say these things as frankly as Shuangyun, perhaps because he cared too much, and he knew Shuangyun perhaps didn't care about him as much.
The sky had darkened.
Cheng Lang slightly withdrew and closed the window on Shuangyun's side.
The car began playing music again. The two returned to Cheng Lang's apartment together.
There wasn't much food at home. Shuangyun went to the supermarket with Cheng Lang.
Her phone received an email. Shuangyun opened it and told Cheng Lang it was a flight check-in reminder. Shuangyun's flight was in two days.
She was leaving. Cheng Lang quietly nodded and said he knew, I'll take you to the airport that day.
Shuangyun said okay.
The evening atmosphere wasn't too relaxed. Shuangyun knew it was because she was leaving.
Cheng Lang made many dishes, but Shuangyun didn't have much appetite. The unfinished dishes were sealed with plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator. Shuangyun knew she should leave.
During this time in New York, she didn't stay overnight at Cheng Lang's apartment.
But she was leaving. The flight was in two days.
