Landon's expression didn't change. He said in Chinese, "Thank you."
Shuangyun smiled and turned her face away.
Then she looked directly at him. "Teacher, did you follow me here?"
Landon didn't respond to her joke, only asking, "How can I transfer the money to you?"
Shuangyun knew he was talking about the locksmith.
Everything had become interesting.
Shuangyun slightly leaned back, using her back to gently push the office door closed.
The click was Shuangyun's move.
But this was his office. Landon didn't show any reaction to her behavior.
Shuangyun leaned against the door and asked him, "Didn't you say you were a teacher?"
"I said yes and no."
Shuangyun thought for a moment. "Do you supervise PhD students?"
"Co-supervisor."
"Oh, I see." Sometimes industry would fund university PhD projects. Landon probably became a PhD supervisor because he funded a project.
So that was the "yes and no."
Shuangyun looked at him and smiled unabashedly.
She didn't refuse the money transfer, walking forward to open her WeChat QR code. After Landon scanned it, he quickly transferred the locksmith fee to her.
"Thank you," he said.
"You're welcome." Shuangyun put away her phone. "I thought from your name that you might not speak Chinese well. Many Asians can only understand but not speak."
"My family speaks Chinese at home." As he spoke, his gaze had already returned to his computer to start working.
Shuangyun received his signal to leave again.
"I'm going," she said.
Only then did Landon look back at her.
"But I have a question." Shuangyun suddenly said.
Landon's hands left the keyboard.
Shuangyun placed both hands on his desk.
She leaned forward slightly. Landon thought she was going to ask something important and leaned in slightly too.
But he heard Shuangyun say softly, "Teacher, does our company allow office romances?"
This time she was even closer. As she spoke, loose strands of hair carrying her fragrance brushed against his cheek.
Landon couldn't help but blink.
"...What did you say?"
