Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Sleep is the First Productivity
Meeting again, Cheng Lang reached out to help Shuangyun when she entered the company. Shuangyun raised a standard smile: "Long time no see, Teacher Cheng. Thank you."
He nodded and left after seeing her to her desk.
Shuangyun felt in a great mood.
Sitting at her desk, she first chatted with colleagues around her and reported on her injury, then quickly caught up on all the company gossip, making sure she hadn't missed anyone's news.
Of course, gossip would never include Landon.
He came early and left late. What he loved most was work.
Shuangyun's laughter reached Cheng Lang's office. He came out to get water and saw Shuangyun laughing so hard she was doubled over.
There wasn't much work that day. When quitting time came, Shuangyun wasn't in a hurry to leave.
She lingered until past 9 PM. Shuangyun was in the break room getting water.
Cheng Lang's office door opened. He saw Shuangyun leaning against the table drinking water.
The company was already empty.
Shuangyun raised her cup, only showing her big eyes looking at Cheng Lang.
Cheng Lang walked to her side to get a tea bag.
Shuangyun just watched him. While Cheng Lang was pouring water, he asked her: "How's your leg?"
Shuangyun set down her cup and lightly jumped twice in place. "Basically healed!"
Cheng Lang was amused by her.
Shuangyun also laughed.
The break room was very small. Their breaths seemed to mix and tangle.
The sudden laughter also brought sudden quiet.
But neither of them left.
They were just drinking water.
Shuangyun asked him: "Are you free on Saturday?"
Cheng Lang's heart slightly lifted. He set his cup on the table and asked her: "Do you need something?"
But Shuangyun shook her head. "No."
Cheng Lang's heart settled.
He asked again: "Was work very busy today?"
Shuangyun still shook her head. "No."
"Then why haven't you left yet?"
"I was waiting for you." Her eyes smiled, curving into two little crescents.
Cheng Lang's heart lifted again.
"Were you waiting for me for something?"
Shuangyun smiled and said: "No."
After saying this, Shuangyun rinsed her cup under the faucet and put it back in the cabinet.
Cheng Lang quietly watched her.
Shuangyun said: "I'm leaving."
Cheng Lang didn't speak.
Shuangyun then pretended to turn, and in the next second used the same trick again.
She was even looking into Cheng Lang's eyes. Shuangyun let out a small cry: "Ah—lizard—!"
Then made a move to pounce on him.
But Shuangyun didn't hug him this time. She just raised her hand threateningly, then quickly withdrew it.
Cheng Lang's heartbeat stopped.
Then began to beat violently.
Who could avoid falling into Shuangyun's trap?
Such clumsy acting. She'd even performed it three times. It shouldn't have been difficult to recognize at all.
Besides, this was an office. How could there be a lizard?
And he'd been completely exposed.
Because the moment Shuangyun turned toward him, he'd opened his arms.
Shuangyun stood at the break room door and laughed. She said: "Goodbye, Landon."
Then turned and left without any attachment.
